The Canon EOS-1D X Mark II was announced on Tuesday. This is Canon’s flagship DSLR aimed at sport and press photographers who need high iso, speed and high performance.
This camera like the just announced Nikon D5 is a Pro level body for photographers who need performance over high resolution.
Key features to this new Canon camera are an all new 20MP sensor, Dual DIGIC 6+ processors to capture 4K video and shoot continuously at up to 16 fps. The camera has a native ISO of 100-51200, expandable to 409600! The camera has built in GPS and supports CFast cards produced by Sandisk and Lexar. These new compact flash cards are required for 4K video recording.
The camera has Canon’s Dual Pixel AF technology for high-speed focusing and Dual Pixel AF enables continuous autofocus in video. The rear LCD screen is touch sensitive, allowing you to set AF point in Live View and in video mode.
